The food and beverage supply chain uses cobots for a variety of secondary processes, such as packaging and machine tending. The use of collaborative robots enables employees to be relieved from repetitive tasks that can cause injury in unfavorable environments, such as humid greenhouses and refrigerated rooms.
The efficiency of cobots is enhanced by low-touch processes, and they can work around the clock without interruption. During seasonal bursts, cobots can meet productivity requirements without adding temporary workers. A flexible, easy-to-program cobot can be repurposed to handle different products or processes as needed. In addition to adding value to low-volume operations, cobot-based production and packaging lines do not require safety fencing (after risk assessment).
There is a wide range of reach and payload requirements for cobot models to meet the needs of pick/pack/pal applications. Integrated palletizing wizards make deployment simple, even for custom pallet patterns and labeling that are often needed for food and beverage distribution.
